Yahoo! Got to ride with my brand new trike bud, Gary Bunting this last Friday morning. Gary rode with, Steve Green on Steve’s first adventure down from Oregon. Gary had been off of his machine for a while and wanted to get back in form. He drove out from his home and we did a 23.6 mile loop to Santa Fe Dam and back.
For someone who is “out of shape” he sure did well. He cramped up a bit near the end of the ride, so we just slowed down, enjoyed the scenery, and made it back home in good shape.
Gary, if you are reading this, it was great to meet and ride with you. We will definitely do it again soon.
Take care, my Friend.
David
You are a great story teller Dave! It was easy to enjoy the journey along with you because of the lively language and beautiful pictures! I’m sure next time you will go all the way, although 228 miles is pretty amazing!
Thanks for sharing!
Christie
Hey David, have a great time on your upcoming trip. Be safe out there. I look forward to all the updates.
Thanks, Jim!
I’ll post on the first day after I set up camp, will try to add something at least every other day.
Thanks for the photos you two! I really like that trike lane – what a treat to have a special road just for us human powered humans. You picked an excellent buddy to trike with David, as he will fill you in on all the nuances of overland triking – neat things like gearing, trailers, knees, bathroom breaks, camping in oil-soaked grass, and pedaling high gear across long expanses of open valley. Yep, the life of a trike gypsy, nomad, phantom, or any other crazy guy on a trike is indeed a wild one. Live free and trike on!
Hi out there. I am only two miles from the San Fa Dam. I hope I can see you up there some time.
Tim
Hello, Tim. Are you a trike rider also? I can email you if you like, to let you know when I’ll be out that way.
Hey David –
Good times were had by all!!! Looking forward to seeing you again after your ‘vacash’ and doing another trail ride. Thank you again, for inviting me on this great ride.
Gary
Love that part of the SGRT trail… looks like you guys had a great ride!
Hey, Glenn. Yes, it was big fun. You should come up and ride when you get a chance.
